Split

A Multimedia Project

Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences, Intermedia Design Class, 2025

Split is a handheld video game about the emotional complexity of immigration. Players use one set of directional buttons to control two snakes at once, each representing a different life: one tied to the past, the other adapting to the present. As the snakes grow, players must choose which side to prioritize, reflecting the tension of living between two identities, cultures, and homes. Through gameplay, Split turns the immigrant experience into a metaphor for constantly moving forward while feeling divided.
